In celebration of the 105th anniversary of the St Vincent and the Grenadines Teachers Union (SVGTU), 27 retired teachers were honoured last Friday at Grenadine House in Lower Kingstown Park.{{more}}

However, only 10 of those persons were on hand to receive their awards.

President of the SVGTU Joy Matthews thanked the retirees for the years of contribution to the teaching profession. Matthews said she was proud to be part of an organistaion that has spanned over a century. She also wished them all the best in their future endeavors and God’s richest blessings.

Following the brief awards ceremony, a luncheon for the awardees, teachers and members of the SVGTU gathered was held.(KW)
