Smart receives Fair Trade scholarship

The SVG Fair Trade Organization Inc. continues to play a vital role in the development of Education in the farming/rural communities. Vanisha Smart, daughter of Vaniah Mc Dowall, a fair trade farmer from Greiggs, is the proud recipient of the 2007 scholarship of $4000 yearly. This is the fifth scholarship that the organization has awarded to successful students in the farming community. Communities benefiting from the scholarship programme are La Croix, Richland Park, Langley Park and Chapmans. Since the inception of fair trade scholarship programme in 2004, the organization has donated a total of $13,000.
