A four burner gas stove with oven, groceries, and clothing along with cash, were handed over on July 4th at the 4H Club House in Union Island and witnessed by staff of the Pre school, which is located at the house.
The presentation was made by Sylvester King, Asst. Youth Officer in the Youth Affairs Department, Ministry of Tourism Youth and Sports.
A request for assistance for the family was made in April 2007 by the Youth Affairs Department, after it held the third of its âCamp Awareâ programmes on the island. The family lost all its belongings in a fire over the Easter weekend, but Junior and Demi, members of the Young Help Striders 4 H Club, were still able to attend the camp.
The family expressed thanks to Courts St.Vincent, The Ministry of Works, The Ministry of Housing and the Youth Affairs Department for their support.
