Shernica eyeing Mr. Exotic BVI ’07

Local designer Shernicia Mayers has been chosen as one of the Caribbean designers to show off her creations in the Mr. Exotic BVI 2007 show.

The event which is also dubbed “BVI Renaissance Man” is put on by Island Flava Productions in Tortola BVI, and takes place on Saturday, June 23 in that country.{{more}}

Mayers has been asked by the company to provide outfits for all the male models in the swim wear category as well as for several female models who would prelude the swimwear segment.

The 20-year-old Georgetown resident believes that this would be her moment to get regional exposure and is excited about the invitation.

She however expressed concern to Searchlight that she would not acquire enough money to purchase the fabric needed to make the bathing suits and is seeking the assistance of persons in making this dream of regional exposure come true.

The petite lass who has been designing and sewing garments for residents of her community since she was nine years old, praised Image Modeling Agency for giving her the publicity locally through the Fashion Caribbean shows and now hoped to take her creations to a wider audience.

Mayers has also been chosen to design and make the swimsuits for the contestants in the 2007 Miss SVG pageant on June 2.
