Woman in police lock-up with gun in underwear

JAMAICA – Camesha Blake, the 26-year-old Greater Portmore, Jamaica resident who was found in a police lock-up with a gun hidden in her panty, was sentenced to seven years’ imprisonment on gun and ammunition charges when she appeared in the Home Circuit Court recently.

The court was told that on February 1 of this year that at around 2:20 pm, the police raided the unemployed woman’s house where they discovered ammunition in a component set.{{more}}

She was arrested and charged with illegal possession of ammunition, but before being placed in a cell, Blake was searched and a .38 revolver taken from her underwear. She was then charged with illegal possession of a firearm.

Blake pleaded guilty to both charges when she appeared in court and was sentenced to six years for illegal possession of a firearm and one year on the illegal possession of ammunition count.

She will, however, spend six years behind bars, as the sentences are to run concurrently.
