Lady D $1,000 richer thanks to Courts

Denise “Lady D” Stephens is the winner of the Courts (St Vincent) Ltd Look-a-Like and Sing-Like Alison Hinds contest held on Tuesday November 14 at the Kingstown branch.

Stephens who won a cash prize of $1,000, had to dress up in beachwear and a wrap to imitate Alison Hinds in her 30-second Courts jingle – all in front of the singer who flew in from Barbados to make an appearance at the Kingstown furniture store.{{more}}

Stephens who is also a Calypsonian/Soca singer said that she had some doubts on whether or not to enter but at the last moment, put away her inhibitions and sang her heart out.

Stephens also said that she was happy to meet and sing along with the energetic singer of Square One fame and was grateful to Courts for the opportunity.

The large crowd that gathered at the shopping centre was entertained by Hinds who is the new marketing face of Courts.

Hinds who was overwhelmed by the response of Vincentians to her visit said that she had traveled throughout the Caribbean but the Vincy welcome was the most exciting.

Second place in the competition went to Asha Stewart who had a remarkable resemblance to Hinds, won $750 and third place went to Monique Lampkin who cashed in $500.
