Caribbean students urged to enter poster competition
The Florida-Caribbean Cruise Association Foundation for the Caribbean is inviting students from St Vincent and sister islands to compete in the 2007 Children’s Environmental Poster competition.
Opened to students in two age groups with US$15,000 in cash prizes, the competition aims to promote and stimulate environmental awareness among Caribbean students.{{more}}
Each student must submit one poster and select a topic that promotes environmental awareness. Each poster must depict at least three ways in which his/her destination can make a difference in preserving the environment.
To be eligible each poster must have a summary description along with the title of the poster.
Words may be used to highlight the ideas illustrated and the posters should be on standard size (22″ x 28″) poster/bristol board.
Posters may be in color, black and white or a collage in whatever medium the entrant chooses.
The entries will be judged on the following criteria: creativity, relevance to the theme, content, quality of the presentation (layout/ design).
Each entry must be accompanied by an entry form available at the Ministry Tourism.
In the Junior Division (12 and under) and Senior Division (13-16 years), the winners will take home US$2,500 for the first place, $1,500 second place, and $1,000 third place. The winning schools will also receive cash prizes of US$1,250 for the first place, $750 for second and $500 for third.
