Club to host Miss Independence show

Cultural Upliftment Fan Club is hosting Miss Independence 2006 tomorrow.

Five contestants will be vying for the top spot at Spotlight Stadium, Georgetown starting at 8:30 pm that will feature guest artistes Slingers and Crossover Dancers, Alagy.

“The aim is to instill in persons a sense of national pride and to create an awareness of our national heritage,” a release from the club stated.

The five contestants are Miss Rose Bank – Arusha Corke; Miss Georgetown – Kereta Toussaint; Miss Chateaubelair – Nasheca James; Miss Stubbs – Shanika Shallow; and Miss Biabou – Shaneel Johnson.

The contestants will be judged in five areas: Independence speech, swimwear, talent, evening wear, and interview.
