Credit Unions to celebrate week

With over 40,000 members the St Vincent and the Grenadines Credit Union Sector and it’s members will join with credit union worldwide to celebrate Credit Union Week. The week will run Sunday, October 15 to Saturday October 21.

Credit Union week will be held under the theme “Credit Unions Making A World Of Difference: Empowering Our Young People”.

The credit union said that this annual commemoration brings people together to reflect on their co-operative history, their credit union achievements and to promote the credit union idea around the world.{{more}}

International Credit Union Day will be observed on Thursday October 19. The week of activities commences with worship at various churches.

Other events for the week include: panel discussions on radio and television, which would feature presentations on various aspects of credit unionism; a credit union youth symposium; a national credit union convention; and a promotional exhibition at the premises of all credit unions.

International Credit Union Day will also allow credit unions here and abroad to pay tribute to their members for their commitment and support to credit union development.
