Simon called to bar

Another son of Vincentian soil had his call to practice law at the local bar recently at the High Court in Kingstown.

Lennox J. Simon who originally from New Montrose on the outskirts of capital Kingstown, migrated to the United States, where he pursued his legal training in Washington D.C. He attended the Antioch University School of Law, and was awarded a Juris (J.D) Doctor Degree. {{more}}Then, at the American University, Washington College of Law, he was awarded a Master of Law Degree (LL.M).

He is a member of the Bar of the District of Colombia Court of Appeals, several intermediate federal courts, and the United States Supreme Court. Simon has also practiced law as an attorney with the Government of the District of Columbia for the past eighteen years.

He later enrolled at the Hugh Wooding Law School in Trinidad and Tobago and pursued a course of training leading to the award of Legal Education Certificate (L.E.C.).

Madam Justice, Gertel Thom, granted Simon’s application. Simon said it was truly an honour to be called to the local bar and that all his motivation came from all the long serving lawyers that have been in the practice before him. President of the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Bar Association, Nicole Sylvester said,

“I look forward to him being a part of the legal system here and know that he will contribute to the development of the local bar.
