Santa visits Canouan Government School

On Thursday, December 15, 2005, over 200 children from Canouan were all bright eyed and full of glee when they gathered at the Canouan Government School for a Christmas party. The children were treated to an afternoon of Christmas carolling, a live band concert, a gift giving ceremony, a visit from Santa Claus, and lots of Christmas goodies.{{more}}

Organised and hosted by the companies of CRD Limited (CCA Limited, Raffles Resort Canouan Island, and Tamarind Beach Hotel and Yacht Club), the traditional local event to help spread Christmas cheer to the children of Canouan focused on the theme that Christmas is a time for sharing and giving.

The children were thrilled by the visit of Santa Claus and enjoyed the entertainment provided by the band “Third Eye”. This year CRD Ltd decided to be a little different by having a live band to entertain the children. In the spirit of Christmas the children joined their voices to all the familiar Christmas Carols. The occasion provided a memorable experience which they will cherish for a very long time. With CRD Limited’s continued support, this tradition will continue.

Iva-Lisa Mendes speaking on behalf of the organizing committee thanked Coreas Hazells Inc. and J.G and Sons Ltd who donated items towards the Christmas party, and wished success, peace and a blessed Christmas to all of St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

The “Christmas Good Turn” was one of CRD Limited’s community social events in which community members and volunteers from the three companies of CRD Limited work together towards the goal of being united on Canouan Island.
