New Deputy Chief of Mission at SVG Embassy in US

St. Vincent and the Grenadines has appointed a new Deputy Chief of Mission to its Embassy in Washington D.C. La Celia Prince replaces D. Fitzgerald Bramble who worked in the position for 5 years.

Prince was a recipient of an island scholarship in 1995 and is a lawyer by training. She was educated at the University of the West Indies, Sir Hugh Wooding Law School and later won a Chevening Award to pursue graduate studies at Cambridge University. {{more}} While she practiced law in St. Vincent and the Grenadines, she was an associate at the law firm of Saunders and Huggins.

In Washington, Prince will have responsibility for political affairs and foreign trade matters.

She comes to the Embassy with a wealth of experience, having been trained by the Caribbean Regional Negotiating Machinery (CRNM) in multilateral trade issues. This training experience was gained at the FTAA Secretariat in Mexico, the CRNM office in Barbados and the World Trade Organisation (WTO) Secretariat in Geneva, Switzerland.

More recently, Prince has worked with the African Caribbean and Pacific (ACP) Secretariat as well as the CRNM in Brussels, Belgium. During this period she worked closely with the various Caribbean Missions and Embassies in Brussels, with a focus on negotiations of the Economic Partnership Agreements with the European Union.

Prince, who speaks both French and Spanish is the daughter of George and Helen Prince of Belvedere.
