The Dynamite Calypso Tent will present a 19-member cast. They kicked off their activity at Café Omar May 21. The performers include two former national monarchs in the persons of Carlos ‘Rejector’ Providence, and Errol ‘D Man Age’ Rose. Others in the line up include regular finalist Earl ‘Exposer’ Isles, Paul ‘I Mad’ Scrubb, John Dougan, Franklin ‘Supa Dex’ Richards, Melvin ‘MC’ Bobb, Dennis Bowman, Joel ‘Red Roots’ Bartholomew, John ‘JC’ Cato, Ramon ‘Jose’ Diaz, Kenroy ‘Jakie’ Jack, Jerome Gopaul, Coyaba Jack, Lively, Fabulous T, and Stryker.

The band Global Explosion will provide musical accompaniment.

Dynamites is run by a nine-member executive. Treasurer Ainsley Primus outlined plans for Dynamites’ activities when he visited the Searchlight earlier this week.

Dynamites Calypso Tent is expected to face the judges early in June as part of the selection process for 20 semifinalists. That semifinal show is scheduled for Carnival City Victoria Park June 24.

Ten finalists will advance to the final on Dimanche Gras July 3.

The monarch will receive $20,000, with $15,000 for second and $10,000 for third.

Dynamites is one of six Tents. The others are On Tour, Graduates, Theatre, North/South Leeward, and Stars.
