Youth Ambassadors now better prepared

Local Caricom Youth Ambassadors Modonna Corke and Kyle De Freitas are now much better prepared to speak on issues relating to Caricom after attending a project development Workshop on March 3-5 in Antigua.

De Freitas told Searchlight that they gained skills on how to build and develop projects, through the mini-grant programme. {{more}}He said this allows community-based organizations to get funding on projects like HIV/AIDS among other things. He noted that the workshop has also helped him realise that young people need to be more informed about the Caricom Single Market and Economy, (CSME).

De Freitas also revealed that the representatives from 12 countries in attendance helped to give him a better feel of what was happening in their respective countries and what can be done to improve their challenges.

The youth ambassador also urged other youngsters to make sure that they get a good education and not to be mediocre at school. He also urged other young people to make the best of the opportunities that come their way.
