Set for Life postponed

The Set for Life draw, originally scheduled for tonight at Victoria Park, has been postponed until July 17.
According to a release from the National Lotteries Authority (NLA), “Due to overwhelming requests from the general public, both here at home and from Vincen-tians abroad who are coming home for Carnival, the National Lotteries Authority has decided to schedule the final Set for Life draw for Saturday, July 17, 2004.”{{more}}
After almost seven months of intense advertising, Vincentians were gearing up for the draw tonight but the NLA stated, “This new date of the Set for Life grand draw will give everyone the opportunity to get more tickets to win in this massive game.”
The main draw for the game, which was introduced by the NLA, will offer a lucky person the opportunity to be set for life by winning a house (located at Cane Grove), EC$50,000 and a brand new Nissan X-Trail Jeep. Second, third, fourth and fifth prizes will also be won. Tickets cost EC$5.
Marketing Officer at the National Lottery Kumar Persaud took the Nissan X-Trail for a tour of the Leeward side of the island last Saturday in an effort to promote the game, which is part of the NLA’s 20th anniversary celebrations.
Performances by soca artistes Madzart and Luta, who recorded promotional jin-gles for the Set for Life game, are also can-celled for tonight.
