Chatoyer Youth Movement making big strides

The Chatoyer Youth Movement made a big stride towards enhancing the literary skills of residents of Sandy Bay this week when the group donated almost 5,000 books to three educational institutions in the area.
The books, totalling 4, 815, were presented to the Sandy Bay Government School, the Sandy Pearl Anglican pre-school and the Sandy Bay Public Library.
They were made available through a cultural exchange between Nixon Lewis, president of the Chatoyer Youth Movement and Omaru Chatawa, the president of Dance Caribe in England.{{more}}
Among the persons who contributed to the success of the venture were Omaru Chatawa, Senior Lewis, St. Vincent and the Grenadines’ High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, Louise Nebbit, Rachel Peppers, Peggy Barley, Jessica and John Lewis, Harvey Job, Lydia Clarke, Lionel Thomas, Andrea Nanton and Roxanne Baptiste. The Ministry of Education also contributed to the effort by transporting the books from Kingstown to Sandy Bay.
