Karla Gellizeau takes Best Interview title in 53rd Annual Jaycees Queen Show

St Vincent and the Grenadines’ representative in the 53rd Annual Jaycees Queen Show walked away with the Best Interview title, having placed in the top five out of 12 contestants.{{more}}

Karla Gellizeau, who scooped first runner-up in the Miss SVG 2014 pageant, took part in the regional competition on Friday, August 1 in Antigua and Barbuda.

The 12 contestants appeared in Swimwear, Talent and Eveningwear segments, with the top five performers moving on to the final segment – Interview.

Miss St. Kitts/Nevis Kaeve Armstrong won the pageant, and is now Miss Jaycees International 2014. Armstrong placed first runner up in the 2014 Miss Carival pageant that took place in St Vincent & the Grenadines in July.

First runner up went to Antigua and Barbuda’s Heidigail Francis, and Dominica’s Francine Baron took second runner up. Baron holds the 2014 Miss Carival crown.

Best Swimwear was won by Miss St. Lucia Amy Stephen; Best Talent went to Miss St Kitts/Nevis Kaeve Armstrong; Best Modelling Skills – Miss Antigua and Barbuda Heidigail Francis; Most Photogenic – Miss Dominica Francine Baron; and Most Congenial – Miss Haiti Gaelle Cazeau.

The other contestants were: Miss Anguilla Amethyst Davis, Miss British Virgin Islands Rosanna Chichester, Miss Dominican Republic Talisbeth Cabrera Fortuna, Miss Guyana Alicia Bess, Miss Montserrat Tazia Briscoe-Jarrett, Miss Trinidad and Tobago Denille St. Cyr and Miss USA Stephine Miles.

The pageant is held as part of Antigua and Barbuda’s Carnival celebrations, and was won last year by Miss Dominica Leslassa Armour-Shillingford – who also won the 2013 Miss Carival pageant.
