Owia Carnival activities to kick off tonight

After months of preparation the Owia Sports and Cultural Organisation (OSCO), will host its much anticipated Carnival activities this weekend.{{more}}

The weekend Carnival activities will kick off tonight with a Fashion Extravaganza and Talent Explosion at the Owia Government School, dubbed “The runway meets the real fetters,” which is expected to commence at 9 p.m.

This will be followed by J’Ouvert and later on in the afternoon will be the Street Jump, which will feature mas on the streets of Owia for the first time ever. Over 20 masqueraders are expected to don costumes designed and created by three of the members of OSCO.

There will also be an after party later in the evening.

Then, on Sunday, it’s the Owia Carnival Cool Down in the form of a River Lime at the Owia Big River. This event will feature a number of competitions for the young and old.

OSCO/Owia Carnival 2014 is being sponsored by LIME and the St.Vincent Brewery Limited, under the theme “Come LIME with us and drink ah Hairoun.”
