North Leeward Carnival activities climax with three major events

Official Carnival activities in North Leeward climax this weekend with the staging of three major events.{{more}}

Tonight there would be the Queen Show, to be followed by J’Ouvert and a Street Party.

Six beautiful contestants will vie for the 2014 coveted title of Miss North Leeward. The annual show takes place at the Petit Bordel Secondary School Hard Court, commencing from 9 p.m.

Shuwani Massiah, 19 years, Miss Spring Village; Heshburn Jocelyn, 20 years, Miss Troumaca; Oneisha Lavia, 16 years, Miss Chateaubelair; Moressa Small, 20 years, Miss Fitz-Hughes; Osheca Edwards, 16 years, Miss Petit Bordel; and Shaniah Williams, 16 years,

Miss Rose Hall are all anxiously awaiting tonight’s show. The show is expected to be of a high standard and patrons are eagerly looking forward to a great show.

Last year’s winner was Fayasha Lewis – Miss Troumaca, who was sponsored by Providence Electronic Solutions.

Revellers would take to the street for J’Ouvert at 4:30 a.m. from Petit Bordel to Fitz-Hughes.

Carnival activities in North Leeward will conclude tomorrow, Saturday, June 7 with the LIME Street Party. The music truck will leave the Chateaubelair Playing Field at about 3 p.m., and will travel to Fitz-Hughes and back to Chateaubelair.

Carnival activities in North Leeward are organised by the North Leeward Sports Association, through the Carnival Development Corporation (CDC) and sponsored by Hairoun Beer and LIME.
