Joseph walked away with the crown with his song âNothing at allâ, beating out Cecile âLil Bitâ Murray doing âDis World in Turmoilâ into second. Derek âMan Sickâ Alexander, doing âTogether as Oneâ and former Calypso Monach Grantley âIpaâ Constance doing âRead Moreâ shared the third position.
Noel âDefoeâ Castello, performed well doing âWoodliceâ with Glenroy âAzarahâ Charles also giving a good account performing âOne the Battle Fieldâ.
Meanwhile, Vincent âBlakeyâ Cuffy was again judged the King of Extempo beating out Aubrey âRas Booâ Burgin in the final round.
Four contenders vied for top honours including Johnny Rebel who sang on the topic âArnhim Eustaceâ, Linton âSweet 16â Samuel on the topic âAnesia Baptisteâ, Burgin, who selected the topic âThe Hottest Carnivalâ and Vincent âBlakeyâ Cuffy with the topic âMiss SVG 2012.
Johnny Rebel and Samuel were quickly disposed off leaving Ras Boo and Blakey to battle it out in the final round.
The two went head to head entertaining the crowd, but at the end of the battle the patrons voted strongly in favour of Blakey, making him St Vincent and the Grenadinesâ undisputed King of Extempo. (DD)
