Without question, Jamaican Dancehall superstar Popcaan is by the far the most sought after artiste on the music scene right now.{{more}}
And come February 3, Vincentians will have the opportunity to see Popcaan live in action at the Victoria Park.
Dubbed Dancehall Fest 2k12, One Love Promotions will bring the young artiste here to belt out some of his hit songs alongside Tommy-Lee, another heavy-hitter in the Dancehall industry.
The 23-year-old, born Andrae Jay Sutherland, jumped onto the scene back in 2010 with the smash single âClarksâ, featuring his mentor Vybz Kartel. From then it was no stopping âPoppiâ, as he is affectionately called.
Popcaanâs music, which is mostly geared towards the ladies, is the man responsible for such hits as âDreamâ, âCleanâ, âRavingâ, âOnly man she wantâ, and his most recent hit âParty Shatâ that has been taking the airwaves by storm.
And with his chatch phrase âYaooooooawâ that gets the crowd going, patrons are in for a treat.
Jahwanza Fraser of One Love told SEARCHLIGHT that they are looking to make the show an annual event and want to brand the end of January each year as âDancehall festâ.
âPopcaan is the hottest thing right now in music and people know already that One Love only brings the best to SVG, affirmed Fraser.
Tickets will go on sale from as early as next week and can be purchased at the Avenues Sports Bar in Paulâs Avenue and the Music Centre.
One Love has also brought to St Vincent the likes of Comedian Shebada and dancehall star Aidonia.
The showâs sponsors are Guiness, LIME and Hairoun.(KW)
