Faye-Ann, Bunji blaze at fire fete

Summer is usually associated with extremely hot weather. And when Trinidadian Soca superstars Bunji Garlin and his wife Faye-Ann Lyons took the stage at this year’s “Fire Fete” on Thursday, July 2, the heat only intensified at Carnival City, Victoria Park. {{more}}

Fresh from the birth her first child, capturing the Soca Monarch, Groovy Soca Monarch and Road March titles in her homeland earlier this year, Lyons did not seem debilitated at all as she delivered the same high-energy performance that patrons have come to love.

Belting out their hits including: “Meet Super Blue”, “Heavy T Bumper” and “Clear de Road” the dynamic duo had the large crowd in a frenzy throughout their entire performance.

Not to be outdone on their home turf, Local acts including Soca Monarch champ Gamal “Skinny Fabulous” Doyle and road march champion Shertz “Problem Child” James had the crowd going mad while unleashing their inner beasts. Other performances came from Ragga Soca champion “Raeon “Madzart” Primus and Landord among others.(KW)
