No sleep for Hot 97 party animals tomorrow night

04.JULY.08

On Saturday June 28 at the Arnos Vale Hard-court, Digicel, along with Hot 97 and other sponsors had patrons dancing and prancing at the “Insomnia” fete to the phenomenal performance of Trinidadian Soca sensation, Destra Gracia.

Destra who is a Digicel signed artiste brought an energetic vibe that left the crowd wanting for more; even though the show ended at 6am the next morning.{{more}}

The Digicel Soca Diva and her live musical band performed some of her old hits but her new tune called “Free Up” which was a collaborative release with reggae don Sean Paul, was much welcomed.

Destra then turned up the heat with the added attraction of her three dancers as they revealed dance moves from another new hit called “The Saddle” that left the gents in the audience in awe at the flexible dance moves.

At one point in the show, Destra demonstrated the new moves to at least one female patron and at the end of her lesson; she gave the patron the title of being the “Local Destra Dancer” in SVG.

Antiguan based Soca artiste, Tizzy, also gave a brilliant performance with her chart topping songs “Fully Loaded” and “Expose.”

“Insomnia” fete lovers were not disappointed with the local cast of Icon, Danielle Veira, Skinny Fabulous, Blakie, Problem Child, Danni-O, Fireman Hooper, Luta, Jamesy P and Digicel signed performer Zohela.

Hot 97 Manger Luke Boyea described Destra’s performance as “fantastic” and emphasized that her dancers and live band complimented to her pinnacle act.

Boyea also had high commendations for the local cast whom he pointed out were “stepping up their game” to take Vincy music to the “next level.”

The Hot 97 Manger believes that overall, the “Insomnia” show was a well oragnised, incident free show with a good crowd, thanks to the positive input of patrons and sponsors.
