Travelling Film Showcase visits SVG

The Traveling Film Showcase “arrived” in St. Vincent and the Grenadines last week. The concept of the Traveling Film Showcase was arrived at a Film Showcase meeting in Jamaica a few years ago when Cuban film-makers including{{more}} Rigoberto Lopez met.

The Ministry of Culture as coordinator of the Film Showcase premiered the first Caribbean Film at the Peace Memorial Hall on Tuesday May 29th, at an Invitational event in conjunction with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Karib Cable – Channel 45 will showcase some 7 Films from May 30th, 2007 and SVG-TV will show no fewer than 3 Films, with responsibility of further dates to be confirmed.

The special guest for the opening of the Showcase will be Cuban/ Cannes Film Director Awardee Rigoberto Lopez.

The Traveling Caribbean Film Showcase is intended to make Caribbean audiences aware of film movies made in the Caribbean, with a Caribbean cast; produced and directed by Caribbean men and women.
