Digicel Gospel Fest ends

CHRISTIANS transformed Carnival City Victoria Park into the “Gospel City” as they jumped and waved bandanas to worship God last weekend at the climax of Digicel Gospel Fest.

The event dubbed “Give God the Glory” had hundreds flocking the stands and grounds on Saturday to witness Wendy Mitchell from the USA, bellow her tunes and Shem from St Lucia bring his unique touch to the stage.{{more}}

Droves of people flocked to the park, let themselves “loose” and praised God as Terry Baynes from the USA and Junior Tucker from Jamaica hit the stage. Tucker with his dancehall reggae vibes had the audience in a revival as he encouraged them to never hold back when they praised God and not to be ashamed of their faith.

The month long event also had performances from outstanding dance troupes such as the KLT Dancers, hilarious comedy from Calvon and Caldon Charles and dynamic preaching by seven year-old Junior Kelly from the Faith and Life Pentecostal Church.

Minster of Culture Rene Baptiste encouraged young people to also “give God the glory” which she said would help steer them away from trouble, while Digicel Manager Martin Bollers praised the festival for positively impacting on the lives of Vincentians.

This is the fifth year the festival has been sponsored by Digicel.
