Danielle first up in Rising Star show

Danielle Viera is the first Vincentian that will compete in the regional Digicel Rising Stars 2006 competition.

Danielle, who arrives in Barbados today, will compete against finalists from Barbados, Grenada, St Kitts/Nevis, Dominica, Antigua, Anguilla and St Lucia on Sunday, October 8 at the CBC TV studios, five miles from Bridgetown.{{more}}

“I want to express my nervousness, to me it’s not me doing a regular show it’s the whole competition thing that is making me nervous, but I am excited to finally start the journey, and I will give my best performance and I will make my Vincentian people proud!” Danielle said.

Persons who wish to vote for Danielle should tune into SVG TV on Sunday, October 8 at 8:00 p.m, and using their Digicel handsets they can vote by texting or calling the number that will appear on the screen when Danielle appears.

On Sunday, October 15, 2006 Vincentians will see their second contestant’s performance on SVG TV. Kyron Baptiste who hails from Bequia is elated about the opportunity he has been given.

Digicel Rising Stars Grand Finale will be televised live from Barbados on Sunday, November 19, 2006. At stake in the Digicel Rising Star will be US$10,000, a top of the line Sony Ericsson handset and a publishing contract. The second place winner will receive US $5,000 while the third place will walk away with US $3,000.
