Ornella takes Miss Garifuna Queen title

She is a Girls’ High School Fifth former, from the North Windward district of Sandy Bay. In her first Beauty Pageant, Ornella Child, a 15-year-old, took the Miss Garifuna Queen title 2006. She took Best Evening, won Best Interview and shared the Congeniality title with Akelia LaBorde.

Ornella, who appeared as Miss Owia Salt Pond, expressed happiness with the results of the show. For her, the contest “was a trial run to see how brave I was.” {{more}}

Ornella, a petite figure with an eye on a career as foreign ambassador, is enhancing her position with French and Spanish, two of her favourite subjects.

If you see Ornella as a future Miss SVG delegate don’t be surprise, for she has not written off her chances as a future contestant.

Ornella beat Akelia LaBorde – Miss Falls of Baleine into second, and Tanesha Baptiste – Miss La Soufriere placed third.

The other contestants were Jovanie Peters and Annetta Brackin.
