Carnival performance uncertain for OECS Soca Monarch

A cloud of uncertainty surrounds the performance of reigning OECS Soca Monarch and one-time Vincy Soca King, Orande “Bomani” Charles at this year’s Vincy Mas festival.{{more}}

Bomani, a frontline member of the band HS Phaktor was seriously injured after he collapsed, fell and broke his jaw in three places, while on tour in New York on Tuesday. According to reports reaching Searchlight, the Soca artiste is a patient at the Brookdale Hospital.

The artiste who last performed here in February at the Annual Blues Festival was on a hectic schedule performing Sunday in Brooklyn and Saturday night in Boston.

The entertainer had recently released a new single, “My Island”, which followed his tribute to Glenn Jackson, a composition he performed with another local artiste, Skarpyon.
