Cajun Chicken Sloppy Joe
You will need:
1 lb ground chicken
1 tbsp oil
1 small onion, finely diced
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tbsp Cajun seasoning (adjust to taste)
1/ 2 cup tomato sauce
2 tbsp ketchup
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce Salt and black pepper to taste
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
2 hamburger buns Butter, for toasting buns
Method:
Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add onion and sauté for 2-3 minutes until softened. Add garlic and cook for 1 minute. Add ground chicken and Cajun seasoning to the skillet, Cook, breaking it apart, until browned. Stir in tomato sauce, ketchup, and Worcestershire sauce.
Simmer for 5-7 minutes, allowing flavours to meld. Season with salt and pepper.
Toast the buns with a bit of butter in a separate pan until golden. Top the chicken mixture with shredded cheddar cheese and let it melt in the skillet. Assemble the Sloppy Joes by spooning
the cheesy Cajun chicken onto the toasted buns. Serve hot and enjoy.
Home made Cajun Seasoning
You will need:
2 tbsp Paprika
2tbsp Garlic powder
1 tbsp Sea salt
2tsp Dried oregano
2 tsp Dried thyme
2 tsp Onion powder
2 tsp Cayenne pepper
1 tsp Red pepper flakes
Method:
Stir all ingredients together. Store in a small airtight jar.
