I’m stuck between my two boyfriends!

Hey Rosie,

I’m a 22-year-old who’s stuck between two guys, both of whom I love. One is my boyfriend and the other is my ‘other boyfriend’, if you know what I mean. I’ve been with my boyfriend for two years and the ‘other boyfriend’ for one year and two months.

Rosie, these guys love and cherish me so much, at times it feels like I’m living a fantasy. I want to choose between the two, but I don’t want to break anyone’s heart. I need help Rosie, before someone gets hurt.

Well, my friend, it seems as though YOU will be the one who will get hurt, if you don’t stop this dangerous game/love triangle!

I know you are only 22 years old and you haven’t had a lot of experience in this adult relationship game, but being with two guys at the same time is a definite “no, no.” Not only is it not cool, it is very dangerous. When it comes to emotions and love, you can’t toy with them, because they aren’t always rational emotions when they are tested.

I know you said that both guys love and cherish you, so much so that sometimes you feel as though you are in a fantasy.  Maybe it’s the fantasy and fallacy of this whole set-up that has you not thinking straight. You WILL be discovered, believe me. When this happens, they BOTH will be very upset!  More than likely, they will be very resentful towards you for playing them both and they may even dump you.  So, I’m saying to you to just stop this now.

Yes, stop. Please ask yourself why are you doing this. What are you getting out of this on a real and meaningful level? Does this behaviour make you happy?  If the answers are no, I would suggest taking a break from both guys, and looking inwardly in terms of why you are engaging in this very unhealthy love triangle.

Remember you deserve one good, kind, loyal and dedicated partner in your life and so do these young men. At the moment, there are no winners in your current set-up. Please do the right thing.
