Facebook screen shot claims NLA Credit Card was put to personal use
The National Lotteries Authority (NLA) has not yet commented on the authenticity of a screen shot making the rounds on social media purporting to be a formal demand for the repayment of personal expenditures alleged to have been charged to an NLA credit card.
The document, which has been circulated publicly, is headed “RE: FORMAL DEMAND FOR REPAYMENT OF PERSONAL EXPENDITURES CHARGED TO NATIONAL LOTTERIES AUTHORITY CREDIT CARD.”
The circulated document appears to be a photograph of a document being prepared on a computer screen. It claims that a review of the NLA’s financial and credit card records identified expenditures that appeared to have been personal in nature and unrelated to the official business of the NLA.
According to the document, the alleged personal purchases amounted to EC$844,110.84 between August 2023 and December 2025. However, the figures shown in a table in the document raise an apparent discrepancy.
The eight transactions listed, Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino ($321,562.47), Cash Withdrawals and Fees ($187,873.71), WM Supercentre & Walmart ($27,195.07), Parcen Crown KFT ($25,797.57), Turni Stores ($12,964.66), Payn Sols ($12,311.50), Global Quest ($7,287.74) and Taqat Gearl AED ($6,837.45, total approximately EC$601,830.17, rather than the EC$844,110.84 stated in the body of the document.
