Watchman escapes gunman in Kingstown Cemetery shooting
Residents of Rose Place/Bottom Town, no strangers to gunshots, were last Wednesday, August 5, 2026 greeted by the familiar sound of heated projectiles leaving a gun as a watchmen stationed at the Kingstown cemetery is said to have fled for his life.
A resident of the area told SEARCHLIGHT, that at around 7:00 p.m., she was inside her home which is adjacent to the cemetery, when she heard about three to four gunshots that startled her.
She said she later heard that a lone gunman had tried to shoot the cemetery’s watchman and that the watchman had managed to flee from his attacker unhurt.
She noted that while she was startled by the gunshots, what further traumatized her was when, around 8:00 p.m., about an hour after the shooting, she was inside her home when she heard people calling to her from outside.
