Persons detained for questioning in Chinatown triple homicide
THOUGH NO ARRESTS have yet been made in the Chinatown triple homicide, police say they have detained persons for questioning.
The brazen triple homicide occurred on the night of July 18th at Chinatown, a popular mall less than a hundred yards from the Central police Station in Kingstown. Reports say that at about 11:45 p.m. gunmen approached a group of men at a gambling table, and opened fire.
Sgt. Smith of the Royal St. Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force Public Relations Department told Searchlight that although a number of persons have been detained, no formal arrests have yet been made as the investigations continue.
It is believed that two odf thew murdered trio, Karon “Twin” Bowens, 34, a labourer of Ottley Hall, and Giovannie Grant, 23, a labourer of Ottley Hall were the intended targets while the third victim Claude John, 50, a cart operator of Largo Height just happened to be in the wrong place at that time. One source said persons were gathered playing dominoes when they heard gunshots followed by screaming and shouting, and saw men frantically running about.
