Three men shot dead in City
THE SHOOTERS who created chaos in Kingstown last Friday night July 17, killing three people, were said to be decked out in black clothing and wore bulletproof vests.
The actions of the perpetrators of the brazen Chinatown massacre took the homicide count in St Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG), to 27 for 2026, and took the number of people killed violently here so far in July to seven.
The Royal St Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force (RSVGPF) has since launched an investigation into the fatal “brazen” shootings of Claude John, 50, a cart operator of Largo Height, and friends Karon “Twin” Bowens, 34, a labourer of Ottley Hall, and Giovannie Grant, 23, a labourer of Ottley Hall.
In a report, the RSVGPF said investigators are working “to establish the circumstances surrounding the shooting and identify the person or persons responsible”.
According to a businessman, the area which is located only a few feet away from the Central Police Station is a popular hang out spot where several liquor and provision shops are located.
The businessman told SEARCHLIGHT it is being said that the shooters gained access to the area via the sea using a boat and left that way after shooting the three men.
