Minibus operators, improve quality of your service – Gonsalves
Former Prime Minister of St Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG), Dr. Ralph Gonsalves, is urging minibus operators to improve the quality of the service they provide to commuters, saying too many people have expressed dissatisfaction with the behaviour of some drivers and conductors.
Speaking on Star Radio on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, Gonsalves said while many operators continue to provide a reliable public transportation service, there are recurring issues involving reckless driving, overcrowding, loud and often vulgar music, and poor customer service that are causing some commuters to avoid travelling by minibus altogether. He said members of the public have repeatedly raised concerns about their experiences while travelling on minibuses and he believes operators must take those complaints seriously if they wish to retain passengers.
“You need to deliver better service; people are complaining too much about the loud music in the mini buses.”
