Suspect charged in Darrion Kimani Roberts murder
Following weeks of investigation, 35-year-old Rufinus “Yanick” Edwin, of Bagatelle, Marchand, has been formally charged in connection with the murder of Vincentian national Jevauny Darrion Kimani Roberts, who was found at his apartment in Sunny Acres, St Lucia, on the afternoon, Friday, May 22, 2026 with what appeared to be a wound to his neck.
Edwin appeared before the First District Court in Castries and was remanded into custody until August 11, 2026.
The discovery of Roberts’ lifeless body in his apartment sent shock waves throughout St Lucia, St Vincent and the Grenadines, and the other countries where he left his mark.
A post-mortem examination determined that Roberts died as a result of an incised wound to the anterior neck, confirming the death as a homicide.
Seen as a significant breakthrough in the case, reportedly, the Royal St Lucia Police Force, during their investigations, recovered items of evidential value.
