New Chief Education Officer shares vision for the sector
NEWLY INSTALLED Chief Education Officer in the Ministry of Education, Vocational Training, Innovation, Digital Transformation and Information, Marvis Findlay-Joseph, has expressed a deep sense of gratitude.
Findlay-Joseph, who assumed the position on Friday, June 26, 2026, told SEARCHLIGHT that she “feels a strong sense of gratitude to God for allowing me an opportunity to continue developing education in St Vincent and the Grenadines at a higher level where I could more readily effect change”.
“It has also caused me to reflect a bit on my journey. Education has always been my passion, particularly my formative years, developing emergent literacy skills, and there was always a joy associated with learning and education that sparked an interest in me pursuing a lifelong journey in education,” Findlay-Joseph said.
“ I remember the sort of joy I got from being in school and learning, and I always want to pass on that same sort of energy, motivation, and joy to students, so it has taken me back to that journey from childhood right up to this point, I came through being a teacher at different levels, the primary, secondary, tertiary, and would have gained rich experiences, which I was able to share with my colleagues, and so there’s also a sense of accomplishment that you know I have gone through the different stages.”
