Great House residents fed up with the gun violence
THE FEELING OF a gunshot on flesh, along with fear, and a will to survive, saw a man jump over an embankment with a drop of over 40 feet while another man dove through a stranger’s house window while covered in blood.
A third man wasn’t so lucky as an assassin’s bullet ended his life on the spot as his two colleagues ran for their lives.
The incident being described took place on Tuesday June 23, 2026 at around 4:00 p.m. in Great House, Lowman’s Leeward where several residents told SEARCHLIGHT on Wednesday, a day after the shootings, that they are fed up of the criminal elements in their area who seem to be more interested in creating chaos than living in peace.
One resident said last Tuesday, the quiet afternoon was shattered by gunshots and when the noise died down, one man lay dead in an abandoned house while two others were shot and taken to the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital (MCMH). According to a law enforcement source, the dead man is a St. Lucian who entered the country by speedboat.
Another resident said that his family had to clean blood from their home and clothing (that were inside the room) into which one of the men jumped via a window.
