Strict enforcement of No Bottle policy at Park – Bailey
DEPUTY COMMISSIONER of Police (Ag) Trevor Bailey has said there will be strict enforcement of the no bottle policy at Independence Park during VincyMas, 2026.
Speaking at a media conference of the Carnival Development Corporation (CDC) on Wednesday, June 17, 2026 the deputy commissioner however said the police will exercise some leniency regarding the conduct of some patrons, and this includes the use of expletives during the carnival season.
“We all know when there’s a mixture of alcohol, music, people tend to sometimes get a bit carried away and the language change, so the unusual use of an expletive sometimes come from someone who you may not normally get it from, and that is because there’s a mix of alcohol and party, so the officers are asked to be flexible when it comes to arresting,” DCP Bailey stated.
They will be encouraging the officers to dialogue with such persons but warned that “it is not a license for you to come to Kingstown and drink and misbehave and figure that because they say we will be flexible you’ll come and mash up the place.
