POPULAR VINCY CONTENT CREATOR TRACES HER STEPS
Popular Vincentian content creator Nerfertiti Russell, known on social media as “CookingWithFruity” has shared how her cooking journey began and hopes to expand her culinary passion beyond social media by opening a food establishment.
In an interview with SEARCHLIGHT on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, Russell reflected on her journey as a content creator, sharing how a simple decision to record herself cooking eventually led to her passion for learning to cook. Speaking about her long-term ambitions, Russell said she hopes to further develop her culinary skills and pursue a career in the culinary arts.
“I believe things will switch up. I am planning to be a professional chef.” Despite not growing up cooking, ‘Fruity’ is now dedicated to refining her skills with the ultimate goal of launching her own restaurant within the next five years.
She explained that her interest in creating cooking content began unexpectedly. Growing up, she was not the primary cook in her household. Instead, her sister usually prepared meals for the family. However, one day her sister returned home and decided she would no longer be responsible for cooking every meal. Fruity recalled that her sister told her she was old enough to begin preparing food for herself, prompting her to try cooking on her own for the first time.
“I set up the phone and started recording myself while I was cooking because it made me feel more comfortable,” she explained. What began as a way of soothing her nerves in the kitchen quickly evolved into content creation.
