Magikal aiming big for Vincy Mas 2026
The 2019 Soca Monarch Derron Jamal ‘Magikal’ Rouse, says he always strives to show the world what St Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG) has to offer musically, and this year is no different.
Rouse, in an interview with SEARCHLIGHT on June 2, 2026 said currently, he and his team are aiming for places in the finals of the Soca Monarch and Ragga Soca Monarch competitions.
And, according to the Soca king, his mindset is that he underestimates no one when it comes to competition while always striving to give 100 percent in his performances.
Having won the competition in 2019, defeating veteran Soca man Delroy “Fireman” Hooper, Magikal has not managed to place first again, despite powerful presentations in the Soca Monarch final, but told SEARCHLIGHT that this year, he will be pulling out all the stops and he is confident that his 2026 hit “Head Chip” (Soca) will be going places, while his other productions (for example Miss Universe) are definitely leading the way for VincyMas.
