Vincentian Nurse stands out in Barbados
A VINCENTIAN ON the nursing team at the The Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Barbados, has been named Nurse of the Year as the hospital celebrates Nursing Excellence, during Nurses Week 2026.
Gillian Little, a nurse of 17 years at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Barbados, offered her sincere thanks to those who nominated her for the Nurse of theYear Award, as well as the Barbados Nurses Association for recognising her “professional journey”.
Originally from Paul Over here in St Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG), the Registered Nurse with experience in emergency care, was in the first batch of nurses who went to work in Barbados in 2008.
Speaking to SEARCHLIGHT from her adopted home in Barbados Little, who did her training at the St Vincent School of Nursing said she went to the award with the feeling that she was not going to win.
