Lawyer Grant Connell, Police Commissioner seemingly mend fences

LAWYER GRANT CONNELL, will not be pursuing legal action against Commissioner of Police (COP) Enville Williams as the two professionals appear to have mended fences.

The commissioner and the criminal defense lawyer butted heads last week after comments the commissioner made in relation to statements made in court by Connell as he was mitigating for a client facing a firearm charge. Connell had said people who wanted to turn in an illegal weapon must be careful which police officer they hand it to as the possibility exists that the weapon may return to the streets.

Without specifically naming Connell Commissioner Williams referred to the statements as “reckless”, and “a crazy suggestion” that could alarm the public, among other things.
