Driven to achieve academically, Samantha Burnett- Harry, a lecturer at the Division of Nursing Education, who recently obtained a PhD in Nursing, still has her eyes set and ambitions for achieving more.
The holder of a Doctorate in Nursing from the University of Central Nicaragua (UNC), Burnett- Harry moves up another rung on the academic ladder, as she is currently enrolled at the University of the West Indies Global Campus.
“A Doctorate is the highest degree you can get. However, last year, I still decided to pursue a Master’s in Educational Management and Leadership, which I started last September,” Burnett-Harry related to SEARCHLIGHT.
Tracing her journey of the past 17 years in the nursing profession, Burnett-Harry disclosed that she was never satisfied with the status of a qualified nurse.
Therefore, in 2010 she began that quest for higher qualification at the University of the West Indies, Mona, Jamaica where she obtained a Bachelor of Science post Registered Nurse.
