North Leeward Carnival launch set for Saturday
North Leeward kicks off its 2026 Carnival programme on Saturday, May 9 at the Chateaubelair Park from 1:00 p.m in the form of a Launch and Night of Culture.
Organisers are urging patrons to get ready for pure vibes, culture, energy, and non-stop excitement as North Leeward comes alive for VincyMas 2026.
Saturday’s launch promises to be not just an event, but “a full cultural experience” featuring cultural dance performances, steel pan music, a new song competition, local talent showcase, along with local foods, drinks, and more.
Held under the theme “Playing mas ah Yard”, this year’s carnival action will feature several activities, as the organisers bring “a power-packed line up of events” to entertain patrons.
They are promising that this year, patrons can expect “bigger energy, better vibes, and unforgettable moments as we celebrate culture and music”.
Running from May 9- June 13, 2026, the programme of activities include Kiddies Carnival and Wet Fete on May 30, Soca Monarch on June 6, and the grand climax weekend on Saturday, June 13 with J’ouvert and evening jump up.
The North Leeward Carnival is just one of the rural carnivals that will be held during the VincyMas season here in St Vincent and the Grenadines.
