White British travel vlogger blasted over iShowSpeed comments
“WHAT DOYOUTHINK the narrative around this Ishowspeed Caribbean tour would be if he was white?” This question was posed by British content creator ‘travelwithzoe’ in relation to the overwhelming welcome that globally-renowned Darren ‘IShowSpeed’Watkins Jr. received while visiting the Caribbean islands over the past week.
White British Travel Vlogger Zoe ‘TravelwithZoe’ Reeves, with 9,000 followers on Youtube, is known for documenting her experience in the Caribbean and featuring ‘dilapidated’ areas; by contrast IShowSpeed is an African- AmericanYoutuber and Streamer, with 53.4 million subscribers onYoutube making him the first Black individual creator to reach a milestone of 50 million subscribers.
While Speed’s tour, which commenced on April 25, 2026 in Trinidad and Tobago, sparked a friendly debate among islanders over which Caribbean country gave him the best welcome,
Reeves quickly inserted a different vibe when she questioned the ‘racial double-standard’ of his reception.
Reeves said that while she was seeing people getting shamed for running to him, she was not seeing people being shamed for leaving their house to see him or give him a gift.
