Bishop saved from burning house
THE CHURCH COMMUNITY, the people of Chester Cottage, and the Bethel Gospel Assembly are among the numerous people who are sending up prayers for Bishop Hollis Charles following a fire that broke out at his home on Friday, May 1, 2026, at about 11:30 p.m.

Affectionately known as Pastor Charles, the Chester Cottage resident apparently fell as he tried to escape the fire and had to be rescued by a former policeman, who happened to be in the area.
The 85-year-old pastor, who in October last year celebrated that milestone, was up to press time, reportedly still at hospital after the fire engulfed and destroyed the entire top floor of his home, located in the North Central Windward area of St Vincent.
