Five brawlers handed ‘keys to their own cell’
Four teenagers and one young adult, some of whose caution statements revealed their knowledge of the locations of Sixx and Seven gangs across St Vincent, are now holding the “keys to their own cell” after the were given suspended sentences for fighting inside Kentucky Fried Chicken business place in Kingstown.
Kezron Peters, 17, Jasrick Young, 16, Gabrielle Haywood, 18, Veron Holder, 17 and Ivorn Thomas, 23, appeared at the Serious Offences Court yesterday, March 2, where they were given suspended sentences, after being charged that on February 13, 2026 at Bay Street, Kingstown in a public place to wit, “Kentucky Fried Chicken Building”, they did take part in a fight.
On the date in question at about 9:00 pm, the Bethel High School had sports at Independence Park. After the event concluded, several persons, including the defendants, went to Kentucky Fried Chicken where an argument arose, which quickly developed into a fight involving the defendants and another person.
During the fight, objects were used from within the customer area to beat each other. The matter was reported to the Police and CCTV footage of the incident was obtained and an investigation was conducted.
