Dr. Gonsalves soon to release another publication

The regional academic community can expect several more books from Opposition Leader Dr. Ralph Gonsalves, in the coming months. Among them will be one that examines the “New World Order” and its implications for the Caribbean region.

Speaking in a recent radio broadcast the veteran politician and former prime minister said he has completed a wide-ranging 20-page manuscript which he intends to circulate to the Vice Chancellor of The University of the West Indies (UWI), other academics and professionals. He said it explores the shifting global power dynamics and how regional governments must respond. He said the document raises several questions, adding too that the analysis looks closely at developments in Latin America, including events in Venezuela, as well as the impact of the “America First” doctrine advanced by United States (US) President Donald Trump.

He said the paper is “being typed up at the moment. It’s about the New World Order and the implications for all of us in the Caribbean and what CARICOM must do. You have an idea what I’ve been suggesting, because I’ve been speaking about it for the last three, four sessions, the New World Order, what’s new. which world, and who gives the orders”, Dr. Gonsalves said.
