Small fire displaces form-5 students at SJCK

Form five students of the St Joseph’s Convent, Kingstown, are expected to return to their classroom today, Tuesday, October 14, 2025 after a small fire at the weekend displaced them on Monday, when school resumed.

The fire occurred on Saturday evening, October, 11, 2025, causing some damage to the classroom furniture. The room was being cleaned on Monday, October, 13 2025.

Principal, Sister Martha Sebastien, said she received a call alerting her to the fire.

“Concerned persons who were at church, and those who were on the road gave their assistance…they were able to get the fire out before the fire brigade arrived,” Sister Sebastien told SEARCHLIGHT on Monday.
